   MSNP.DLL Problem in Win9x

Did you ever find a solution to this? Whenever I start Win95 I get a dialog box

with a msg "Unable to load ..." [DLL] ... msnp32.dll ...  "some componenets may not

work ... cannot find file msnp32.dll".

There are at least a couple of ways:

1. Run regedit and search for msn and delete references to msn.
 Make sure
that the entries are for the Microsoft MSNInternet Connectivity S/W and not a string
with the same characters embeddedinto something else -- should be easy to recognize.

2.  Rerun Win95 setup from within Win95. This will not do a complete

reinstall but will copy some of the important system files including those

related to msn. You have to be careful if you have made upgrades to Win95.

In that case, you will get prompts such as "file xxx is older than existing

file, replace?". You can choose not to replace and continue with each of

these prompts or replace them and then reinstall the updates (safer since

the updates may be corrupted themselves).

Cisco UBR924 Cable Modem does not work with service provider

Help! My Cisco UBR924 boots up fine except that the DS LED never goes steady and the modem does not
connect.

Cisco claims the problem is with the service provider and the service provider says that the UBR924 is not
supported although it is DOCIS 1.0/1.1 compliant and they had claimed that they were DOCIS compliant.

If you hook up the UBR to a console (your PCs serial port with HyperTerm) you will notice that the a steady
stream of "ranging errors".  What this means is that the Cisco cannot lock onto a downstream frequency.

This happens because of a bug in the boot image code. Cisco tested the UBR with Cisco CMTS equipment under
ceratin constraints and did not bother with non-Cisco CMTS too much.  However, after a lot of pressure Cisco
has fixed the problem and there is an update available.

You have to call Cisco Tech support to obtain the update and if they lead you astray point them here.
